With the proclamation that fills the needed gap in mobile computing, Microsoft is back in the smartphone field with an advanced android powered folding device.

After Microsoft announced the smartphone last October, the tech giant began taking orders Wednesday for its Surface Duo, a dual-screen handset staring at $1,399.

According to Panos Panay, chief product officer for Windows and devices, "The surface duo is designed for multitasking. Research shows that three out of four people are having a hard time working on a complicated task without their laptops. This device helps people do their complex tasks a lot easier with its screen".

This device aims to stand out and will compete from its rival smartphones. The Duo has a folded display of 5.6 inches opening up to an 8.1-inch screen. Take part in the capability of apps from Microsoft Windows as well as those from the Google-powered Android mobile system.

Panay declared the Duo also intended to offer a "seamless cross-device experience" including the ability to get notifications and texts, make calls, share images or copy and paste content between the two devices with windows 10 pc running operating system.
